Let's Plug Everything In!Ok, don't freeze up now. All of the connections are very simple. Most of the new systems are color coded as well. There are a few
major items that you need to plug in. You need to plug in your mouse, keyboard, and monitor. If your system included speakers, printer, and a mic,
you will need to connect those as well. All of these connections should be made on the back of the system unit. Now you need to make the power connections. There should be two(usually black) power cables for the monitor and the system unit. Plug one into the system unit, and plug the other one into the monitor. Now plug both into your power surge(or directly into the wall). The speakers and your printer will need to plugged into the wall or power surge as well. Now that you have made all of the connections, check to make SURE everything is connected. Don't worry if you forget something. The machine
will not explode or be damaged. Pat yourself on the back and hit the power button for your monitor and system unit. If your system doesn't power
up, make sure your surge protector is on and make sure the system unit and monitor are both plugged into it. There is also a voltage switch that you
may need to flip on the back of your system unit. Usually its in the correct position when you take the system unit out of the box. But, during the move
and installation, you may have hit it on accident. |
